I bow to Maudbids greater knowledge int eh area. I will try to get pictures today or tomorrow from each corner, maybe one of them will help pin point a position down.
Why do you own a fire extinguisher when you have the fire department to protect you?-

Got it!!! courtesy of google street view
The one house in the original photo is still there. Note the unique triangular window in the attic. Also note that the power poles are still in the same basic location. I'll bet this gas station is in RP's 1935 Elmira Index.
