This is usually where lots of legal verbage is placed, to make sure that the System Operators are not liable for anything.
I think thats a cool idea in theory, but in practice, it gets lost in the legal translation, you dont know whats going on, or what your rights are. That sucks.
While you are here, at iElmira, you have the oppurtunity to post messages other people will read. Other people may not agree with what you post. Other people may get testy with what you post. Other people may get rude over what you post. That sucks
You may read something that really annoys you. Something that makes you mad, no, wait, furious. Take a deep breath. Push away from the computer. Go outside for a little stroll. Keep breathing. Then come back. Re-read the message. Is it still so bad? Does the origianl poster really need you to unload yor furious venom on them, because of what they wrote? If so, that sucks.
Disagree with them, sure, go ahead. Disagree with them in a way that would not embarrass yourself. You will feel better when you eventually realize you were wrong, or if not wrong at least that you were to quick to be that guy (or gal), the Internet Dick, who has to type in all CAPS to show how annoyed they really are, instead of pondering the message and providing a scathing rebuttal, all respectfully writtten. Attack the message, not the messenger, ok?
While your at it, dont post any porn or links to porn. I am a guy, I enjoy porn as much as anyone else, but alot of people read this from their work computers and porn is usually considered uncool. So be cool, ok?
Dont post anything that is illegal. If you have a hot piece of gossip or some insider knowledge, send it to me in a P.M. and I will make sure it gets posted, assuring your anonimity.
Everything you post here is yours. If you post pictures, you hold the copyright, if you post a message that gets picked up by the rest of the internet world and there is money to be made from it, it is all you Baby.
I may be missing stuff that is vitally important here, and if so, I will update this as is needed. But the basic philosophy is Be a good person, and dont hit and run.
